First of all, thank you for considering making a donation to the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club.  The AYSC welcomes and appreciates the donation of equipment, materials, and funds. These donations can include anything useful such as sailboats, sailboards (windsurfers), kayaks, and also computer equipment, maintenance equipment, books, office equipment, and more.  The AYSC receives much of its support from private and public donations, so your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Donation types:

(1) – Monetary Donations

Please address any checks to the Anguilla Sailing Association with AYSC in the memo line.  The ASA is a non-profit, non-governmental association.  Donations of any size are appreciated and effective.  We are unable to accommodate requests pertaining to the specific use of donated funds, with the exception of donations to the AYSC scholarship fund.

(1b) – Scholarship Donations

The per-child cost of enrolment in one of the AYSC’s instruction programs is very low, and actually only pays for a fraction of the real operating cost.  Still, many of the youth members and students of the AYSC receive partial or full scholarships which cover the cost of insurance, class enrolment, instructors, equipment use, and regatta registration.  If you are interested in setting up a scholarship endowment, or making a donation to the scholarship fund, please let us know and we will make every attempt to accommodate your request.  You may also simply write scholarship in the memo line of a check.

(2) – Equipment Donations

Please speak with your accountant to determine tax benefits as allowed by law, and consult an appraiser to determine the value of equipment (if you plan on claiming tax benefits).  Next, speak with an AYSC/ASA leader to determine if there is a need for the equipment.  Please be aware that once donated, the AYSC will most likely use the equipment, but in some cases may sell donated equipment if it is determined to be in unusable condition or the ASA board decides that the monetary value would more effectively benefit the AYSC and its mission.
